Students carry out professional responsibilities with the highest standards of excellence, integrity and introspection, consistent with the Honor Code and with adherence to ethical principles. Students value the humanity of all and demonstrate accountability to both patient and society by placing the patient first and advocating for improved access and just distribution of resources.

Professionalism 1: Professional Work Ethic

Demonstrate responsibility, accountability and dependability in all daily tasks as well as an awareness of the impact time-management and personal actions have on self and others.

Professionalism 2: Respect for All

Gain an awareness of personal biases by engaging in reflective, self-monitoring to reduce the effect of one's own beliefs, values, interests and biases on others. 

Professionalism 3: Ethical and Legal Principles

Apply ethical and legal principles governing medical practice; identify, analyze and address unethical and unprofessional behaviors; maintain appropriate boundaries in relationships with patients and colleagues.
